Hello Students!
Welcome to your HS Biology course with Volusia Online Learning! My name is Ms Kraemer and I will be your instructor and I can’t wait to make this year your best year learning ever! I love Volusia Online Learning and I truly hope you will too. 😊 To be successfully documented via VOL online pre-requisites you must follow few new rules (slighly different from Distance learning you have been used to) 1. Visit class website http://misskraemer-science.weebly.com/ watch welcome video-on the home page-NEW UPDATES IN OPEN HOUSE VIDEO THERE; 3. If you fail a quiz four times I must ask for Guided nots printed and filled out (this is a long pocket). Try to take your own notes because this will set you back. Restarting lessons sometimes requires a DBA-this is verbal exam by your teachers. If you fail a unit test review aka: preview tests (this one comes before the unit test I must unlock=summative) you must pass DBA to continue. DBA=discussion based assessment. Again be proactive and try to take better notes to avoid repeating lessons. 4. After I receive your email back confirming that you got this letter, you got familiar with our class website and answering questions I asked you about in the video we will then schedule a welcome call. You will click on booking page on class website to schedule this-parent MUST be present to document this was done and I must speak to both student and parent to confirm all the information again. I am hoping each student is successful, so it is important that I speak to you and one of your parents as soon as possible to complete a brief Welcome Call. We must start scheduling phone calls as of next week, LIVE LESSONS ARE ON wEDNESDAYS AT 6pm (LINK IN CALENDAR) Again to summarize: The purpose of "Welcome Call" is to discuss how to get started in the course and course specifics. I will be calling throughout the week, (if I don't hear from you I might have to cold call); however you SHOULD GET STARTED WORKING RIGHT AWAY and email me if you have any questions. It is important that you get started as soon as you have access. If you do not begin and are not in touch with me within 14 school days, you will be dropped from the course. (part time students only) You can sign up for the course in the fall. To log onto the Course: 1. Go to your vportal and log in. Username will be (alpha)@vcs2go.net The Password will be your 8 digit birthday unless it was changed. 2. Click Vportal and click on the “Edgenuity Student” logo icon. 3.
